The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services towards the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering solutions like new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency said it can be alarmed with regards to the large number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the large quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no totally functional office focused on service the area regularly. The service level designed for intervention activities a superior inflow of potential beneficiaries, that makes it difficult for the office to attend to sassa all people who go to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more resources to enable the servicing of all customers and improve access to Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
